I'm no weapons expert but I think the Frigates that Vietnam has is equivalent to a Destroyer.

The bigger they are the slower it is and harder to maneuver when a missile coming your way. The corvette such as the Molniya is the best choice, speedy and quick with less crew members to die.

BS, how fast are these frigates? Stop using these lame excuses, US Destroyers 8,500 tons do 40+ knots.

Edit: Then Vietnam should get this since it can go through shallow waters like Truong Sa:

LCS 4,000+ tons Frigate that does'nt use regular propeller. it's fat as hell.

Speed, agility, precision, and stealth are qualities that give modern military the edge to win. Size doesn't matter anymore if you are just a speck on the radar, sitting the the vast ocean & far from shore.

Vietnam must have possessed these ship sinkers from Russia&India. You got to have some surprises under your sleeves if you got attacked.

In a full blown war no weapon is useless. Small ships have certain advantages, and they fit with Vietnam's navy tactics - the wolf herd. Vietnam has long coast and shallow sea, high-speeded ships would be ideal. Russian frigates can destroy 10x bigger ship just with one shot so face-to-face we would have number advantage to deal with big ass yet slow destroyers. Today, Vietnam has two Russian Gerpard destroyers and preparing to purchase 2 more Gerpards and 4 Sigma 9113 from Netherland. Neutrally I say we shiit on American craps because they are unneccessarily expensive.

Wait when we received enough 6 kilo submarines, all destroyers and Sukhoi aircrafts, we will be in the position to highraise our voice. Until that, I suggest the oversea "activists" to shut up and stop making Vietnamese people look retarded.

War is about bearing the cost, those frigates are cheap, we can still keep fighting after losing 20 frigates. Only 10 expensive destroyers getting destroyed, Chinese navy will collapse.
